While we're just half way through the month of April, our staff has been working hard to bring donations 'showering' in as part of our first official Knight Moffitt Month. The Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa has done so much in the way of cancer research and in saving the lives of Knight family and friends. We are thrilled to announce that another five of our technical staff have recently achieved the designation ofCertified Dental Technician! These five new CDTs meanthat 28% of Knight's technical staff are CDTs, one of the highest percentages in the country. Each successfully passed a written comprehensive exam covering all specialties in dental laboratory technology, and both a written exam and hands-on exam in his or her chosen specialty: - Sharon Belak, CDT - Crown & Bridge

| FIRST MOFFITT MONTH A HUGE SUCCESS | | Knight Employees Work to Double Fundraising Goal!  | Knight's Annual Health Fair |
Each year, Knight holds a Health Fair for employees, which includes vendors from the area health community providing information, checking blood sugar, performing simple skin cancer screenings and giving employees a chance to donate blood. This year, our employees decided to take it up a notch by introducing Knight's Moffitt Month. The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute has made a lasting commitment to the prevention and cure of cancer, working tirelessly in the areas of patient care, research and education to advance one step further in fighting this disease. Many of our Knight family and friends have benefited from the work of the Moffitt Center over the years, and our staff wanted to show our gratitude by raising money for a donation.  | Sharon & Barb at the Moffitt Month Garage Sale at the Lab |
Throughout the month of April, the staff have been holding bake sales, organizing gift basket raffles and even held a car wash & garage sale. To show support, Knight Dental Group will match every dollar raised by the staff. Our staff set a goal of $1,000, with another $1,000 from Knight. As of April 17th, we have raised $1,935 for a total donation of $3,870! We could not be prouder of the generosity and spirit of our staff, and their willingness to give back to such a great cause. | LEARN OUTSIDE THE LINES WITH KNIGHT AT AACD | | Visit with the Knight Staff at the AACD Annual Scientific Session, May 2 - 5, 2012 in DC  In keeping with the theme of this year's AACD Annual Scientific Session, "Learning Outside the Lines", Knight Dental Group invites you to join us as we explore the newest methods for achieving success. Join us for the following Knight supported activities specifically designed to assist AACD members in their pursuit of Accreditation: Thursday: 1:00-2:00pm & 6:30-7:30pm - Booth 227 Friday: 5:30-6:30pm - Booth 227 Saturday: 1:00-2:00pm - Booth 227 As AACD accredited technicians, Barbara Wojdan, CDT and Lonnie Lee, CDT will be available at our booth during these scheduled times to discuss how they can help support your accreditation efforts. They take their roles at Knight Dental Group's Comprehensive Aesthetic Center very seriously, and have a wealth of knowledge, experience and insight to offer in both the technical and clinical protocols necessary for achieving successful cases. AACD Mentorship Luncheon Friday: 1:00-2:00pm 2012 marks the Comprehensive Aesthetic Center's second consecutive year of proud sponsorship of this AACD event!This is a wonderful opportunity for accreditation candidates to meet and dine with AACD leaders and mentors, who give so graciously throughout the year with educational support, case review and case feedback. Our staff will be on hand to discuss your needs for laboratory consultation and case collaboration. AACD Accreditation Photography Workshop Friday: 9:30am-12:30pm & 2:30-5:30pm We know how important the role that photography plays in your dentistry. Both Barbara and Lonnie will be assisting in these very informative hands-on workshops, designed to provide working knowledge of the necessary elements of clinical case photography for accreditation.
